Dorrington has completed the redevelopment of the Grade II* listed Voysey House Arts and Crafts office building in Chiswick and let all five floors to luxury interior furnishing company Sanderson Design Group.
The building was originally constructed in 1902 as a wallpaper workshop for Sanderson & Sons by architect C.F.A. Voysey. The heritage company, which is returning to the building after 122 years, has signed a 10-year lease on the space.
Dorrington worked with architects dMFK to restore the original elements of Voysey House, which the company acquired in 2020.
The building boasts triple aspect, huge industrial scale windows and ceiling heights of up to 4.1m. Through a consultation process with Historic England and Hounslow Council, supported by Turley Heritage, permission was secured to replace the existing single glazed windows with slim double-glazing set within steel reproductions of the original frames reducing the U Values by more than 50%.
The fully electric building has been fitted with air-sourced heat pumps and features photovoltaic panels on the roof. Voysey House has received an EPC A rating.
