Mazzard Farm Holiday Cottages in East Hill, Ottery St Mary, East Devon, has been put up for sale with a guide price of £1.995m.

The freehold estate, which is currently owned by Ruud Venneboer and Jacqueline Parker, comprises a four-bedroom farmhouse and income producing holiday lets.

The farmhouse is a 17th century Devon longhouse with an open-plan designer kitchen and dining area, lounge, conservatory and office. The estate also features five self-catering holiday cottages positioned around a central courtyard and a one-bedroom annex attached to the farmhouse.

There is also development potential for further accommodation units such as yurts, shepherds hurts or safari tents, subject to planning permission. Available by separate negotiation, is a livery yard featuring individual paddocks, woodland and well-appointed stabling extending to circa 10 acres.

Miranda Ashcroft, from Savills’ hotel capital markets team, which has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “This is a rare opportunity to acquire a highly desirable farmhouse and business opportunity with development potential. In 2024, £12bn was spent on overnight domestic holiday tourism, and in Q1 2025, domestic holiday trips increased by 11% compared to Q1 2024, according to VisitBritain, highlighting the growing demand for UK staycations. As a result, we anticipate strong interest in Mazzard Farm.”

Venneboer added: “We purchased Mazzard Farm in 2007 and lovingly transformed the outbuildings before opening for business in July 2008. It has been a pleasure to own and nurture the growth of the business, which has gone from strength-to-strength over the years. Along the way, we’ve been honoured with multiple awards, the highlight being named the most sustainable tourism business in the entire South West of England in 2023. As we prepare to pass on the baton, we look forward to embracing new adventures and travel and are excited to see Mazzard Farm continue to thrive under new ownership.”
