Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management (REIM) has appointed Klaus Schmitz as chief investment officer Europe and executive chairman of Edmond de Rothschild REIM UK, effective 1 September 2025.
In his dual role, Schmitz will lead Edmond de Rothschild REIM’s pan-European investment strategy, lead investment activity and help strengthen relationships with capital partners across key markets.
As executive chairman of Edmond de Rothschild REIM UK, he will support the local team to further expand in the UK market and strengthen the firm’s presence close to institutional partners in London.
Based in London, he will join the Edmond de Rothschild REIM executive committee and report to co-CEOs Pierre Jacquot and Arnaud Andrieu. He will also chair Edmond de Rothschild REIM’s investment committee.
Schmitz, who has nearly 20 years of experience in real estate private equity, capital markets, and cross-border transactions, joins from Ares Management, where he was a managing director focusing on the DACH market.
