Elliott Wood has appointed Georgia Elliott-Smith as sustainability director.
Elliott-Smith is a prominent sustainability leader, activist and experienced environmental engineer with a proven track record delivering ESG and sustainability strategies in the corporate, governmental and third sectors.
She is also founder of the environmental non-profit Fighting Dirty alongside journalist George Monbiot and is currently chair of Engineers Without Borders UK.
In her new role, Elliott-Smith will lead and continue to grow Elliott Wood’s sustainability team, supporting clients to embed sustainability not just on projects, but across portfolios and within businesses.
Elliott-Smith said: “Sustainability isn’t just about whether a business is doing less harm to the environment. It’s about whether it is actively contributing to a safe, sustainable – and ideally regenerative – society, or whether it is a detractor from that. My work focuses on helping organisations make that distinction in practical, applied ways.”
