Colm Lauder, formerly of Goodbody, and Andrew Teacher, founder of Blackstock Consulting, have launched a new strategic consultancy called Lauder Teacher.
The consultancy, which will specialise in strategic communications, advocacy and investor relations, will be headquartered in London, with additional offices in Dublin and Monaco.
The leadership team also includes chief operating officer Claire Bedouin, formerly a marketing head at Sodexo and McArthurGlen; research director Stephanie McMahon, who previously worked for BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker; associate partner Laura Gibson, who worked with Teacher at Blackstock; associate partner Shirin Iqbal, who previously worked at London Communications Agency and Fishburn Hedges; and senior consultant John Cronin; who worked with Lauder at Goodbody. Gibson will consult part-time and continue her role with Calvermont.
The company is currently finalising an experienced and high-profile international advisory board and will announce further senior executive appointments shortly.
Lauder said: “We see a gap between where traditional investment banks operate as trusted advisors and conventional communications companies. We plan to use our technical understanding of real estate and capital markets to help translate what our clients do more clearly. Whether you are a banker, analyst or CEO, your principal job is storytelling. Our USPs are our experience, independence and technical knowledge.”
Teacher added: “Right now, investors need trusted advisors who can provide market intelligence and independent advice from genuine lived experience across different cycles. Having advised many leading investors since 2006 in every sector of real estate, now is the right time to combine my expertise with Colm’s to fill the gap between strategic communications and investment banking advisors.
“I have enjoyed building teams, with many of Blackstock’s talented alumni spread across the market. Lauder Teacher will look to bring in other partners as we attract some of the brightest minds around, working in collaboration with other agencies and advisors to best serve our clients.”
