Fisher German has strengthened its planning division with two new hires.

Evie Poxon has been appointed as a strategic planner and Nick Wroe has joined the firm’s planning division as assistant planner.

Poxon has an extensive background in planning policy, having played an integral role within Erewash Borough Council’s planning team for almost eight years. Prior to this, she served as planning policy officer at Nottinghamshire County Council.

Wroe joins Fisher German after spending four years in Broxtowe Borough Council’s development management team.

Poxon said: “After a successful period working in the public sector, I was ready for a change and wanted to give the private sector a go. But I also wanted to make sure that it was an environment where learning was encouraged, and I would feel supported. After speaking with a former colleague who made the move over to Fisher German before I did, and after hearing how well the team works together and the excellent workplace environment, I knew it was the place for me to continue to develop in my career.

“I’m really looking forward to working on a mixture of significant planning projects, including infrastructure. Coming from a council background, I am also excited to be on the ‘other side of the fence’, driving forward exciting planning projects and sites at what is a real moment in time in the industry.”

Wroe added: “I’m excited to work in Fisher German’s infrastructure planning team, which is a new area of planning for me. My main ambition is to become a chartered town planner. Fisher German provides a lot of support in achieving this, which was another reason which attracted me to the company. I’m also looking forward to learning more about different sector areas, including infrastructure planning, to help to further develop myself professionally. I’m very happy to be here and in my opinion it’s an exciting time to be working within the planning sector when there are so many new opportunities.”

Angela Brooks, partner at Fisher German, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Evie and Nick to the business. They join us with extensive planning experience within the public sector which will be invaluable for our clients bringing forward impactful planning projects during this important period. As the sector continues to experience growth, we’re excited to be expanding our planning team to ensure that we can continue to deliver high quality consultancy services to new and existing clients.”
