SHW has announced that Alex Gale will take over the role of senior partner from 1 April 2024, replacing fellow partner Adam Godfrey, who has held the role for eight years.

Gale, who started his career as a graduate in SHW’s South London office, is currently regional head of SHW’s London, South London, SE M25 and SW M25 offices.

He left SHW in 1996 to work for Colliers before moving client side to work for a property development and asset management company. Gale returned to SHW in 2015, becoming partner and head of South London business space before expanding his role as head of four of SHW’s nine regional offices.

Gale said: “I’m delighted to have been voted in as senior partner, allowing me to expand my role across the whole SHW team, taking forward the excellent job Adam has done. In this new role I will be continuing to promote joined-up thinking, ensuring the whole team, across all our service lines, works closely together to provide the best possible, all round advice for our clients, while also pushing and embracing technology to continue to improve the services we offer and grow the business across the South East and nationally.”

Russell Markham, managing partner of SHW, added: “I’d like extend a big thank you to Adam, on behalf of the whole team, for his continued efforts over the last eight years and I’m delighted to welcome Alex into the role of senior partner, where I’m confident he will continue to encourage and pull the team together as well as bringing real changes to way we work as we continue to strive for making property work for our clients.”

Godfrey will continue in his role of partner, based in the firm’s Crawley/Gatwick office.
