Global Holdings Group secures £290m refinancing deal for Sea Containers scheme

Global Holdings Group has refinanced its Sea Containers scheme in London with a £290m senior term loan from ING, SMBC and BayernLB.

The landmark scheme, which is located on London’s South Bank, provides 292,000 sq ft of prime office space and the 359-bed Sea Containers Hotel operated by Lore Group.

Sea Containers has an EPC B and BREEAM Excellent ratings and the deal has been documented as a green loan.

Samuel Ellis, head of ING UK Real Estate, added: “We are delighted to have successfully closed this sustainable term loan for Sea Containers; the deal reinforces ING’s capabilities to offer bespoke, sustainable financing products in collaboration with top-tier sponsors like Global Holdings.”

Laura Williams, head of real estate London at Bayern LB, said: “We are thrilled to be extending our relationship with Global Holdings and financing this key asset in their portfolio; this transaction underlines Bayern LB’s commitment to supporting our key relationships and financing sustainable real estate with strong fundamentals.”
