Marine & Lawn has completed the off-market purchase of Greywalls Hotel & Chez Roux in East Lothian, Scotland, for an undisclosed price.

The hotel, which is located near Muirfield Golf Club, provides elegant accommodation and a Chez Roux restaurant.

Owners of the hotel, Dominic and Johanna Hoar, said: “Greywalls is a uniquely beautiful place and has been a very happy home for our family for over a century. The house and the gardens exist today in their intended Edwardian glory thanks to the passion and commitment of my parents Giles and Ros Weaver and grandparents John and Ursula Weaver, all of whom devoted themselves to maintaining it as both a home and a hotel. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye, but we feel that Marine & Lawn are a good fit for the property, and we look forward to seeing it thrive under new ownership.”

Ryan Lynn, partner at Knight Frank, which advised the vendors, added: “This off-market sale highlights the enduring appeal and strategic value of iconic hospitality assets. Greywalls Hotel, with its exceptional reputation and unrivalled location, represents a rare acquisition for Marine & Lawn. We continue to see strong appetite for landmark hotels, particularly those anchored by history, character, and proximity to world-class venues.”

Marine & Lawn was represented by Phillip Allen.
