An apartment and hotel development site in Leicester city centre has been put up for sale for £5.75m.

The land at 97 Churchgate has already been prepared and has planning consent for 142 apartments and a 170-bedroom hotel.

The planning permission granted in February 2021 is for the construction of a single and seven-storey hotel and an eight, 10 and 14-storey apartment development.

The residential element will provide 22 studio flats, 67 one-bedroom and 53 two-bedroom apartments.

James Mattin, managing director of Bond Wolfe, which has been appointed to market the opportunity alongside Enterprise Hotels & Hospitality, said: “We are delighted to be marketing this substantial city centre development opportunity alongside Enterprise. This sale provides a great opportunity to impact positively the city centre landscape with the consented hotel and residential offering.”

Gavin Wright, managing director of Enterprise Hotels & Hospitality, added: “Enterprise Hotels & Hospitality is pleased to bring this prime Leicester development opportunity to market alongside Bond Wolfe. The site represents one of the city centre’s most significant consented schemes, and we anticipate strong interest from developers looking to deliver much‑needed residential and hotel accommodation in a highly connected location.”
