Clara Bagenal George, founder of the Low Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI), has received an MBE in the King’s birthday honours list for services to the built environment and climate change.
Bagenal George founded LETI – a voluntary network of more than 1,000 built environment professionals – in 2017 to support the transition of the UK’s built environment to net zero carbon. Over the past few years ,the organisation has published guidance on the requirements of buildings to help ensure the UK’s climate targets are met.
Bagenal George said: “[I’m] bowled over to receive an MBE this week for the work I have been doing with LETI. To me, this MBE is for everyone who has volunteered their time or money for LETI, leading a workstream, supporting with writing, editing, graphics, coordination, proof reading but most of all those that work behind the scenes keeping the engines running. LETI has only been successful because of the dedication of a core team of LETI volunteers for the last seven years.”
