Mac Mic Land has unveiled ambitious plans to increase its land holding from 62 to 85 sites in the next six months.

The strategic land company, which has confirmed Steve Clegg as its new chief executive officer, is looking to expand its presence across the North West and the Midlands in addition to strengthening its current portfolio of sites in Scotland’s Central Belt, the South West and the South East England.

In addition to Clegg, the company has recently appointed John-Rhys Davies as planning manager in the South West region with further hires planned to support the company’s wider growth strategy.

Clegg joins the Mac Mic Land executive board, which comprises fourth-generation family members of the Mickel family, including senior director Andrew Mickel and director Ross Mickel. Senior adviser David Gaffney, who has acted as interim CEO since October 2025, remains on the board.

Clegg said: “As Mac Mic Land steps into a new era, we have ambitious plans for growth across the North, Midlands and East of England, as well as growing our existing portfolio across the UK. We continue to look at areas with growing populations and good employment prospects, places where people need quality, well-designed homes to provide, well-connected and sustainable communities. We are committed to doing it in the right way, balancing commercial success with purposeful placemaking and creating a lasting legacy that landowners can be proud of.”

Andrew Mickel added: “The evolution of the business sees our continued focus on providing landowners with guidance, certainty, and a clear route to maximising the value of their land. We’ve a genuine desire to do things the right way and the capital to help us to grow. Steve brings a wealth of experience to Mac Mic Land, as a senior leader and with decades of knowledge of the UK real estate and residential landscape. We are delighted to welcome Steve and John-Rhys to the team.”
