Construction and engineering company Murphy has let the 479,000 sq ft Hemel 465 warehouse to wholesale restaurant food distributor Sysco on a 25-year lease.
The building, which is located at Junction 8 of the M1 in Hemel Hempstead, was taken back by Murphy in a state of disrepair in 2023 and has since been substantially upgraded.
Steve Faber, group property director at Murphy, said: “Hemel 465 was an outstanding team effort and an exceptional example of Murphy’s multi-disciplined engineering and construction expertise. The result is an excellent warehouse facility for Sysco which will further enable the business’s growth plans. This was a complex project subject to pressing timescales which was delivered safely and on time. It was a real team effort with the letting secured by our longstanding legal adviser Gordons showing once again why we value the firm so highly.”

It has revitalised an economic asset for the business and provides Sysco with an upgraded warehouse in an ideal location for its substantial operations.”
CBRE represented Murphy on the letting and DTRE acted for Sysco.
