NewRiver has appointed Sarah Williams as an independent non-executive director and Edith Monfries as an executive director, with effect from 1 August 2026.
Williams (pictured) is a chartered accountant and joins NewRiver following a 35-year career at Ernst & Young. Monfries, who joined NewRiver in 2015 and serves as chief operating and people officer, has been a member of the REIT’s executive committee since 2018.

Sarah brings deep financial, audit and risk experience from a distinguished career at EY, further strengthening the board’s oversight as NewRiver continues to grow. Edith has been central to the development of NewRiver’s operational platform since joining the business in 2015 and, as chief operating and people officer and a member of the executive committee since 2018, brings direct insight into the operational and financial drivers of our business.
