Lincoln MGT has secured planning consent for the next phase of the £850m Station Hill mixed-use development in Reading.
Phase 3A of the 2.5m sq ft development, which will provide circa 600 private and affordable new homes, has been substantially redesigned by Gensler to respond to new Building Safety Act requirements and evolving environmental standards.
Located immediately adjacent to Reading Station and the Elizabeth Line, in addition to new homes the next phase will also provide new shops, cafes, restaurants, community space and Station Hill Gardens, a major new landscape-led public space.
Alex Aitchison, UK managing director of Lincoln Property Company, speaking on behalf of Lincoln MGT, said: “The team are delighted Reading Borough Council has recognised the importance of the continued redevelopment of the Station Hill area by granting permission on the next key stage of our proposals. Station Hill is already a thriving neighbourhood which is making a valuable contribution to the economy of Reading and the wider region.
“The scheme creates hundreds of private and affordable new homes for people in the area as well as delivering a range of additional amenities and enhanced public realm. Station Hill is the front door to Reading and is setting a new benchmark for Reading and the wider Thames Valley as one of the UK’s fastest-growing urban centres in recent years.”

The project team also includes LDA Design, Hoare Lea, Ramboll, Cast, DP9, Earnscliffe, Jensen Hughes, Safer Sphere, Stantec and Waterman.
