Norges Bank Investment Management has appointed Alexander Knapp from Hines as the firm’s new global head of real estate.
At Hines, Knapp served as chief investment officer, Europe, and he was a member of the global executive committee and the global investment committee.
He will take on his new role on 16 June and will be responsible for the fund’s listed and unlisted global real estate investments and strategy implementation.
Knapp will be based in London and report into Pedro Furtado Reis, co-chief investment officer active strategies at Norges Bank Investment Management.
Furtado Reis said: “We are delighted to welcome Alexander to lead our real estate team. He brings extensive investment experience and a global perspective. We believe he has both the strategic mindset and leadership style needed to excel in this demanding role.”
Knapp added: “I am incredibly excited to join NBIM, an institution I’ve always respected for its long-term perspectives and responsible investment approach. I look forward to working with the team to continue building a portfolio that supports the fund’s objectives.”
