Peel NRE has secured planning consent for the redevelopment of the former Fiddler’s Ferry power station in Warrington.
The approved plans for phase one will see up to 130,714 sq m of employment floor space delivered across four units for industrial and distribution uses.
Peel NRE is targeting a BREEAM Very Good rating as a minimum for the scheme, which will incorporate renewable energy generation, including solar PV and heat pumps.
The phase one approval represents the first step in delivering the vision set out in the Fiddler’s Ferry Development Framework, which was approved by Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet in September 2024.
The wider masterplan will eventually deliver approximately 101 hectares of employment land and a minimum of 860 new homes in addition to parkland and recreational areas.
