New City Burnside has unveiled plans for the redevelopment of Glasgow’s Chinatown.
The newly formed joint venture between Keltbray Developments and the current owners of Glasgow Chinatown have submitted a proposal of application notice to Glasgow City Council setting out a £160m masterplan for the 4.4-acre site, which is located on New City Road in the Cowcaddens district.
The masterplan for the site, which has been designed by Hawkins\Brown, comprises residential apartments and student accommodation, retail and leisure space and major enhancements to the public realm.
Keltbray Developments has been working closely with the current owners, tenants and key stakeholders of Glasgow Chinatown to ensure the vision respects the site’s cultural heritage and reflects the aspirations of the local community and wider city.

CBRE is the planning agent for the development and the wider project team also includes SLR Consulting, Woolgar Hunter, Henderson Warnock and Hollis.
