E-commerce logistics specialist Whistl has signed a 15-year lease on a 140,000 sq ft unit at the PLP Astley scheme in Wigan.
PLP Astley is a brand new 360,000 sq ft logistics and warehousing park comprising four units ranging from 35,000 sq ft to 145,000 sq ft.
PLP is targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings for the carbon net zero development, which will feature EV charging, PV panels and smart meters.
PLP acquired the 19-acre urban logistics development site from regeneration specialists Peel Waters earlier this year.
Matt Fitton, development director at PLP, said: “Whistl’s early commitment to PLP Astley is a strong endorsement of the development and the quality of the scheme. Securing such a high-calibre occupier at this stage is a fantastic start and sets a great precedent for future lettings across the remaining units.”
Newmark and B8RE represented PLP.
