Rebecca Campbell, a partner in BCLP’s real estate disputes team, has been appointed as the new chair of the Property Litigation Association (PLA).
She replaces Mishcon de Reya’s Mark Reading who is stepping down from the role having completed his one-year term.
Campbell has more than 14 years’ experience advising clients on complex, high-value property disputes for clients at all levels, including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
As chair of the PLA, she will be supported by Kate Andrews, partner and head of Hamlins’ real estate disputes team, who will serve as the organisation’s new vice chair.
Reading will be transitioning into a new consultancy role as immediate past chair for the association, acting as a conduit between other past chairs and the current executive.
Campbell said: “I’m thrilled to be picking up the baton from Mark as chair of one of the property industry’s most inspiring and influential organisations. With significant legislative change such as the Renters’ Rights Bill on the horizon and the consultation on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 being published this week, I look forward to supporting our members right across the country and ensuring their diverse views and voices are heard.
“The PLA has also made fantastic progress using its platform to support EDI initiatives under Mark’s leadership and Kate and I will be continuing to drive forward the association’s important work in this area.”
Reading added: “Rebecca and I are very much aligned on values and I’m reassured to be leaving the association in the safe hands of someone who cares as passionately as I do about the PLA’s membership and ensuring the association delivers quality and value for them year on year, as well as its developing role on EDI issues.
