Birmingham-based proptech business Vertical has appointed Dan Alvarez as its new group chief revenue officer.

Alvarez has more than 30 years of experience of transforming and driving scalable growth within a number of UK businesses including Vitrifi, Vorboss and Glide.

In his new role, Alvarez will oversee all customer, revenue and marketing related functions across the group’s portfolio of brands including The Student Energy Group, Do Energy and Tickd.

Alvarez said: “I’m excited to be joining Vertical at this pivotal moment in their business journey. The company has built an impressive foundation and I’m looking forward to contributing to the next phase of growth as we scale our operations and expand our impact in the proptech market.”

James Villareal, CEO of Vertical, added: “Dan’s extensive experience in connectivity, fibre optics and utilities, combined with his strategic approach to revenue growth, makes him the ideal person to help guide us in our next chapter. We want to help change the way utilities are managed, our platform allows us help enhance the whole journey and make everything better for everybody. Think of it as moving the industry from the Blockbuster business model to Netflix.”
