Urban Playground has signed for a 15,000 sq ft site at Canary Wharf for its Putters crazy golf experience.

Following the success of the first Putters destination in Manchester Arndale, the new space at Canary Wharf will offer an immersive crazy golf experience, featuring live scoreboards, on-screen animations and audio bringing each challenge to life.

The 18-hole course, which has a country garden inspired setting, has been designed for players all abilities and ages, with prices from £12 for nine holes to £20 per person for 18 holes.

Hand-stretched pizzas from Stretch & Bake as well as crispy buttermilk chicken from Chick Chick Boom will be available at the site, alongside a cocktail bar and cafe.

Stuart Fyfe, managing director of retail, leisure and hospitality at Canary Wharf Group, said: “Everyone loves crazy golf and we’re excited to see them open at Canary Wharf. Its fresh take on crazy golf is just the kind of experience-led concept our visitors, workers and residents look for, and it adds something new to our growing daytime, evening and weekend offer.

“Leisure continues to perform strongly and is an essential part of our placemaking which attracts people to the district. More people are choosing Canary Wharf than ever before with visitor numbers tracking ahead of last year’s record-breaking total. With 99% of the estate’s retail and leisure space occupied, there’s never been more to see, eat, buy and do at the wharf.”

Edward Mellors, CEO of Urban Playground added: “We’re excited to be opening our first London based Putters experience in the heart of Canary Wharf. It’s the perfect social experience for friends, colleagues and families who can look forward to country garden inspired interiors with an 18-hole course and live leaderboards to track shots in real time.”
