Built environment consultancy Ridge has appointed Steve Williams as head of infrastructure.

Williams, who joins Ridge after 16 years as a director at Turner & Townsend, brings a wealth of experience in programme and project management across major infrastructure projects in water, aviation, defence and transport.

In his new role, he will work with clients on project readiness ahead of planning applications, business cases and market engagement and support them to make the best use of data to inform decisions about where to invest and how to future-proof their projects.

Williams said: “I am excited to be joining as Ridge’s head of infrastructure to lead its further growth within the sector. Ridge’s independent and respected voice, its multi-disciplinary team, and its positive approach align perfectly with my commitment to supporting clients to deliver major infrastructure projects. Successful delivery of infrastructure has never been more important – and the decisions clients take now will matter long into the future. I look forward to the work the Ridge infrastructure team will do to support them in both the immediate and long term.”

Jolyon Price, executive group and partner, project management at Ridge, added: “As we continue to strengthen our infrastructure capability at Ridge, Steve is the perfect appointment to lead the team through our next stage of growth. His experience of supporting clients to deliver major infrastructure projects, his strength in leadership and his aspirations exactly match Ridge’s vision and ambition. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
