Savills has expanded the capabilities of its energy, infrastructure and renewables team with two new strategic hires.
Nick Edgar and David Cunningham will join Savills as co-heads of Savills Earth Capital Advisors and will provide strategic and financial advisory services to clients in the cleantech and renewables sector.
Edgar and Cunningham each have more then 20 years’ experience in banking, equity capital markets, consultancy and buyside roles.
Richard Rees, managing director of Savills UK, said: “Energy forms the cornerstone of any modern, developed economy, especially as we progress toward the UK’s 2030 zero carbon electricity target. Hiring Nick and David highlights the importance we place on the renewables and cleantech sectors, and they will work seamlessly with the capital advisors team within our existing operational capital markets division, who provide real estate debt and equity solutions.
“This expansion enhances our energy service offering, enabling us to manage the entire lifecycle of energy projects from site identification and planning applications to funding, transaction advisory, and project delivery.”
Edgar added: “David and I are thrilled to be joining Savills. We look forward to helping the firm continue to deliver strategic advice to renewable energy developers through to cleantech and built environment sector clients at a time when businesses are seeking to decarbonise their portfolios. Our goal is to seamlessly integrate finance, renewable energy technology, and real estate expertise while leveraging Savills’ extensive cross sector network to accelerate the clean energy transition.”
