Savills has appointed Michael Blake as an associate director in its social value team.

Blake has 10 years’ experience in the field of social value and community wealth building across the private, public and voluntary sectors, and in his most recent role as head of social investment, he designed and wrote Kensington and Chelsea’s social investment strategy.

As part of the social value team within Savills Earth, which launched in January this year, his focus will be to support clients to get the maximum social value out of their projects and programmes across their UK portfolios.

Wesley Ankrah, director of social value for Savills Earth, said: “Michael has been recognised within the sector for his work on helping to create social value and I am delighted he will be joining our growing social value team. Having launched our social value offering in January this year, it has been clear to see the industry demand and the important role the ‘S’ plays in our ESG agenda.”

Blake added: “The opportunity to join Savills to continue to push the boundaries of what social value can achieve for residents and communities was one I could not pass up. I am looking forward to working with the Savills Earth team as it takes an opportunity to lead on creating impact for communities across the UK and be seen as one of the thought leaders that pushed the conversation on social value forward, not just in real estate but in all sectors.”
