StudentCrowd has appointed Louise Bena to the newly created role of vice president of real estate.

Bena has extensive experience across purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), build-to-rent (BTR) and the wider living sector, having previously worked for the likes of Torsion Group, LUNA and StudentCrowd, where she served as chief marketing officer from 2021 to 2023.

In her new role, she will work across the UK and European student living sectors to support StudentCrowd’s continued growth and help shape the future direction of the platform.

Paul Humphreys, CEO and co-founder of StudentCrowd, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Lou back to the team. She will play an important role in strengthening the connection between StudentCrowd and the wider sector and PBSA ecosystem as we continue to grow. Lou combines deep market knowledge with a genuine passion for improving outcomes for students. Her experience will be invaluable in ensuring we stay closely connected to the needs of both students and our industry partners.”

Bena added: “Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about improving the student experience and supporting the sector. StudentCrowd plays an important role in helping both students and the industry to make decisions, and returning to the company represents an exciting opportunity to innovate and drive the long term success of operators, developers and investors. I’m looking forward to supporting the next phase of growth for StudentCrowd.”
