TFT has appointed Simon Matley to head up the company’s dilapidations team and lead the expansion of its tenant and occupier services offer.

Matley, who has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial property market, was formerly a director at Savills and a partner at Knight Frank.

Matley said: “There is a fantastic opportunity here to build on TFT’s established track record as a dilapidations expert, while also bringing together its vast experience across all aspects of occupier-focused advisory services. We will build our offer to support landlords and occupiers navigate key points of change in the leasing cycle by providing technical and commercial advice and informing decisions about efficiency, cost, quality and resilience, for an asset or across a portfolio.

“As a trusted advisor to our landlord and occupier clients, we are in a unique position to help drive the sector towards more sustainable outcomes. Particularly because, as an industry, we see shorter lease terms with more regular refurbishment cycles for many commercial asset classes.”

Alistair Allison, CEO of TFT, added: “Simon has the technical expertise, drive and vision to grow our dilapidations services, while also bringing together a tailored occupier-focused approach from across the UK and Ireland. This is our latest step as we broaden our expertise and enrich our service offerings to help our clients navigate change and future-proof their assets.

“Drawing on TFT’s deep sustainability expertise and ability to assess and understand existing assets, we are able to help our clients mitigate the significant carbon waste associated with the fit-out-to-strip-out cycle, while making sure that modern buildings meet market expectations amid the ongoing flight to quality.”
