Torque Retail Services has signed for a 398,186 sq ft warehouse at Wakefield Europort in West Yorkshire from Copley Point.

The end-to-end supply chain specialist has signed a 15-year lease on the fully fitted California 400 unit – the firm’s second logistics facility at Wakefield Europort.

Guillaume Savoie-Coulonval, managing director of Copley Point, said: “We are delighted to have secured Torque at California 400 on a long-term lease and to have delivered on the compressed timeline. It has been a pleasure to work with CBRE & Carter Towler, and we look forward to working together again soon.”

Stewart Firth, head of operations at Torque, added: “This was the quickest and largest lease we have ever done – it was a pleasure working with Copley Point.”

Mike Baugh, executive director, industrial and logistics at CBRE, which acted jointly with Carter Towler on behalf of Copley Point, said: “This is a significant deal for the Yorkshire region, and provides our client with the capability to accommodate its growing customer base. Delivering this outcome within the agreed three-week timeline is a credit to both parties and reflects their execution speed and efficiency. California 400 is well-positioned at Wakefield Europort, one of the North’s major distribution hubs, so it is ideally placed to serve Torque’s continued expansion plans.”
