BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker have appointed Jim Crafford to the new role of head of valuation UK. Crafford has more than 20 years’ industry experience as a general practice surveyor and most recently held a role leading the regional valuation business for both brands.

In his new role he will cover the entirety of BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker’s joint valuation activity across the UK and will be based in the London head office.

Stephen Wolfe, head of commercial at BNP Paribas Real Estate, said: “In an illiquid and competitive market, accurate valuations are vital, especially as we head towards the bottom of pricing across many asset classes. With values falling behind pricing, transaction volumes reducing, ESG considerations, and less comparability available and data playing catch-up in many cases, having an established team of experts in place to guide our clients in the right direction is fundamental. Our senior team demonstrates the strength and breadth of our offer, with a highly experienced leader in Jim, who I have no doubt will deliver the strategic oversight and a competitive edge to the prosperity of our brands.”

Crafford added: “I’m looking forward to leading our team to continued growth and success and bringing my wealth of experience and energy to this new role. We offer our clients a truly holistic service across all main asset classes and UK geography, playing to the strengths of both BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker brands, as one integrated entity. Our team’s strong reputation for quality continues to be recognised in our markets. We are well placed to increase our market share further, building off a very strong foundation of loyal clients and converting exciting new opportunities that present themselves on a regular basis.

“Our offering is unique, as the only real estate adviser to be part of a global financial group, we follow the highest standards of compliance and conflict management procedures, underpinned by proprietary in-house data and research, to provide reliable assessments that track an asset’s value and performance.”
