Doughnut retailer Krispy Kreme has signed for a new 2,987 sq ft UK flagship store on Oxford Street.
The company has agreed a 10-year lease at Emperor Group’s 27 Oxford Street and is paying more than £500,000 per annum for the ground and first floor space.
Krispy Kreme’s UK flagship store will replicate its New York flagship and serve hot fresh doughnuts.
Jamie Dunning, president and managing director of Krispy Kreme UK and Ireland, said: “I’m delighted to be bringing the joy of Krispy Kreme to the West End, offering London’s shoppers and workers a one-of-a-kind experience to share an indulgent treat in world-class surroundings.
“I’m proud that we will be playing a key role in the wider regeneration of Oxford Street by delivering our flagship hotlight theatre, inspired by our founder Vernon Rudolph’s promise of truly awesome doughnuts that melt in the mouth.”
Josh Braid, partner, Central London retail at Knight Frank, which represented the landlord on the letting, added: “This commitment from Krispy Kreme for a new concept outlet is another sign of Oxford Street’s resurgence and renewed demand from international brands. The opening of the Elizabeth Line has been transformational and the reduction in business rates has reduced the barriers to entry, providing even more incentive for retailers to commit to space on what is still Europe’s busiest shopping street and a world-famous destination.”
Knight frank and Savills acted for Emperor. BGP represented Krispy Kreme.
