Former Microsoft smart cities adviser Linda Chandler has been appointed chief digital officer at Olympia.
In her new role, Chandler will support the regeneration project’s ambitious plans to utilise technology, innovation and data to “create a truly human-centric destination”.
Prior to working for Microsoft for 12 years, Chandler was chief information officer at London Development Agency. She is a trustee at Building Research Environment (BRE) and a Design Council Expert.
Chandler said: “Olympia is on a journey to become one of London’s most globally recognised landmarks and I am thrilled to be a part of the team towards making that happen. Implementing forward thinking digital solutions that create smarter environments and experiences will help achieve Olympia’s goal in becoming an exemplary, connected place. The future of real estate in the UK will depend upon smart innovations and I’m excited for Olympia to set a new benchmark.”
Lloyd Lee, managing partner at Olympia, added: “Olympia has been London’s premier showcase for culture, innovation and technology since 1887, and bringing on Linda is part of our commitment to ensure Olympia is a world renown showcase for the future of technology and experience for millions of visitors every year and hundreds of millions via digital broadcast.”
Olympia is one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects and is being delivered by Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International.
