Avison Young has hired Amanda Roddy as a director in its health team in Manchester.

Roddy (pictured) is a specialist healthcare surveyor with 20 years’ experience in the investment, development and management of commercial and healthcare property. In her former role, she was senior investment manager at Assura. At Avison Young, her role will involve a national remit with a focus on development and investment, including independent private healthcare.

In October, the company also recruited George Coulson as a director in its health team. Coulson joined from Assura where he was a senior asset and investment manager. In his new role, he will source new investment opportunities in the private and NHS health markets, with a strong London focus.

Frank Convery, principal, health, Manchester, at Avison Young, said: “The health team has a long-established presence in the North and a strong client base. Amanda and George bring valuable assets to the company, and their appointments build on our successful track record in this sector. We continue to invest in Avison Young’s people, to strengthen and diversify our teams. We look forward to boosting our renewed investment activity in the wider health sector in the first half of next year, demonstrating our commitment to our regional offering.”

Roddy added: “I am excited to be joining the health team at Avison Young and look forward to collaborating with the team’s many industry experts across primary and independent healthcare and senior living. I will be working nationally, bringing my many years of client-side experience to an advisory role, assisting Avison Young’s healthcare clients.”

Coulson said: “It is brilliant to be taking on this role in AY’s health team, as it continues to grow and secure new opportunities. I look forward to bringing my investment knowledge to the team, and to helping strengthen our healthcare offering at Avison Young.”
