DWS has promoted Dr Ulrich von Creytz to the role of chief investment officer real estate for Europe.
Von Cretyz joined the firm in 2004 and has held several leadership positions within its real estate business, most recently serving as head of the real estate specialists in EMEA.
In his new role, von Creytz will report to Clemens Schaefer, global head of real estate, APAC and Europe at DWS, and will leverage his extensive experience in client relations and his deep knowledge of European real estate to enhance the client and capital focus of the platform’s investment process.
Schaefer said: “I am confident Ulrich’s long-standing experience and strategic ability will create a positive impact on the investment process, aligning investment themes and capital sources. His strong relationships built across the platform, industry and our investor base will play a critical role in shaping the future growth of DWS’ European real estate platform.”
Von Creytz added: “This position is a great honour given the long-standing track record and reputation of DWS as a leading European real estate investment manager. I look forward to defining an investment agenda around value and growth creation, aligned with our clients’ aspirations. We are starting to see some compelling opportunities arise in European real estate markets. This is driven by a rare window of opportunity for investors ready to enter the market over the next two to three years who we believe could profit from the strong expected recovery.”
