Landsec’s regeneration arm LandsecU+I has submitted a hybrid planning application to reimagine the 1970s-built Lewisham Shopping Centre into a new town centre district.
The masterplan for the 17-acre site, which was designed by SEW, will see 1,700 new homes, 445 co-living residences and up to 650 student beds delivered. The new district will be set around eight-acres of accessible green space and public realm, including an urban meadow.
A pedestrianised high street will sit on top of the reimagined shopping centre lined with restaurants, cafés and bars and a 500-person live music venue.
