TFT has appointed Gemma McKenzie-Rodgers as associate director for energy, carbon and sustainability.
McKenzie-Rodgers, who has more than 20 years of experience, most recently worked at ISG, where she grew and embedded the company’s corporate ESG strategy.
In her new role, she will work with TFT’s specialist teams around the UK and Ireland, to provide energy, carbon and sustainability expertise across development projects and transactions, and provide solutions to engineering challenges facing the company’s clients.
Neil Granger, head of sustainability at TFT, said: “Whether our clients come to us with their own building performance ambitions or a suite of industry standards to achieve, it is our hands-on experience which helps to realise them. Gemma brings extensive knowledge of sustainability standards including NABERS, BREEAM, WELL, as well as bespoke fund or developer goals.
“But most importantly she understands the decisions which clients and project teams need to make at concept and design stages to turn sustainable ambitions into successful buildings. That practical understanding is what makes the difference for a more sustainable built environment.”
McKenzie-Rodgers added: “After a career spent driving sustainable development largely from a principal contractor’s perspective, I’m excited to support clients with the advice and experience to help them achieve their sustainable goals as part of the TFT team.
“In particular, I am looking forward to engaging with clients and supply chains more closely, to embed circular economy principles, and help our industry create and adopt materials, technologies and construction methods that can improve the resilience and sustainability of buildings.”
