Digital property auction platform BidX1 has appointed Rory Field as director of business development.
Field, who has nearly two decades of real estate and business development experience, began his career at Savills before moving to Strutt & Parker, where he became a national partner.
He worked at BNP Paribas Real Estate as a director following its acquisition of Strutt & Parker and he has also held roles in real estate start-ups.
Field said: “BidX1 is a business with enormous potential and a strong track record of innovation. What attracted me is the growth opportunity, both in terms of market share and client development. My focus will be on expanding our corporate client base across the UK, enhancing the customer experience, and ensuring that clients not only transact with us but also stay with us and bring others along.
“We’re in a tough market where traditional pipelines are congested and revenues are under pressure. Online auctions provide speed, transparency, and liquidity. It’s money in 30 days, not 153. That matters to every business watching their overheads and cash flow.”
Oliver Childs, managing director of BidX1 in the UK, added: “Our business has transitioned from pioneer to a main-stream operator and innovator in the auction market. Rory’s appointment comes while we focus on achieving accelerated growth at a time in the cycle where auctions should be considered as the best route to market for the right asset type and value, against the historical perception as a method of last resort.
“We’re thrilled to announce Rory’s appointment and to welcome him to our team. Rory has a strong track record in real estate that compliments our existing team, with a broad contact base and a strong focus on client management.”
