Vistry Group and Wates Developments have secured planning consent from Ashford Borough Council to deliver 141 new homes at Appledore Road in Tenterden, Kent.
The development will provide a mix of housing, with 50% of the 141 new homes designated as affordable. The homes will be delivered under Vistry’s Bovis Homes brand in collaboration with Wates Developments.
The site will also offer extensive community facilities, including new play areas, five football pitches and a modern sports pavilion. A large country park will be created onsite featuring wildflower meadows, community orchards and ponds.
Brendan Evans, managing director at Vistry Kent, said: “This planning approval is a major milestone in bringing forward our Tenterden development and reflects the strong collaborative efforts between Vistry and Wates. We are delighted to be delivering a mixed-tenure community that not only meets local housing demand but also provides high-quality facilities and green spaces for the people of Tenterden.”
Natalie Flint, residential investment director at Wates Development, added: “We’re pleased to be progressing this exciting development in partnership with Vistry. The inclusion of 50% affordable housing and the early delivery of community amenities show our commitment to building not just homes, but thriving, sustainable places.”
