Newcore Capital has appointed George Coulson from Avison Young as associate director in the firm’s investment team.

Coulson, who has more than a decade of real estate experience, was a director in Avison Young’s healthcare team and prior to that he spent six years at Assura.

In his new role, Coulson will report to Newcore’s chief investment officer Harry Savory and will lead on sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management to maximise asset performance across core-plus and value-add strategies.

Coulson said: “It’s a pleasure to be joining Newcore, a well-respected name within the UK real estate fund management industry, with a clear focus on responsibly investing in societally critical assets that serve communities across the UK. I’m looking forward to bringing the sector insight and strategic experience I’ve gained over the years, particularly in healthcare real estate and asset optimisation, to help grow and enhance the Newcore’s portfolio, acting as a genuine steward to the capital under its management.”

Savory added: “We’re very pleased to welcome George to the team, whose track record in healthcare real estate is a sub-sector within social infrastructure that we are looking to strengthen even further as we continue to grow our new and existing strategies.

“With the government increasingly looking to partner with the private sector to achieve positive societal outcomes, now is an opportune time to invest in assets that enable societally critical services. George’s experience and values align perfectly with our mission, and we’re excited about what we can achieve together.”
