Hammerson’s chief financial officer (CFO) Himanshu Raja has informed the board of his intention to retire from the role on 12 August 2026.

Raja, who has 40 years of experience, has spent the past five years as Hammerson’s CFO and will remain employed by the company for the next 12 months. During this period he will remain available to assist with an orderly transition.

Richard Shaw, deputy CFO, will become interim CFO when Raja steps down and the board of Hammerson will now commence the search for a permanent successor for Raja.

Rob Wilkinson, chief executive officer of Hammerson, said: “Hammerson’s FY25 results are a testament to the hard work and exceptional execution of the Hammerson team over the last five years. Himanshu has been an outstanding CFO over that period, leaving the group well placed for the next phase of growth. I would like to personally thank him for his support and continued commitment to Hammerson’s success.”

Raja added: “When I look back at my time at Hammerson, what stands out for me is the amazing people and the phenomenal progress we have made together. I’m sincerely grateful to my colleagues, the executive team and the board for their support throughout my time here. As I retire, I leave with genuine confidence in the future of the business and its continued success.”

Robert Noel, chair of Hammerson, said: “Over the past five years Himanshu has been a valued member of the Hammerson executive team and board, supporting the company’s turnaround and transformation and helping to strengthen Hammerson’s financial position. On behalf of the board, I want to thank him for his contribution to Hammerson’s success and wish him the very best for the future.”
