Allsop raised £52m from the sale of 250 lots at its fourth residential auction of the year, achieving a success rate of 86%.

The highest value lot sold under the hammer was lot 30 (pictured), a freehold pair of semi-detached buildings, arranged as a vacant office with development potential, which sold for £1.38m+ against a guide price of £1.3m+.

Other highlights included a freehold detached building arranged as eight studio flats and a one-bedroom flat in Harlesden, London, which was guided at £600,000+ and sold for £1.1m+, and a freehold part-built development site with consent for a two-phase scheme of 90 private homes plus affordable housing in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, which was guided at £700,000+ and sold for £1.3m following competitive bidding.

Richard Adamson, managing partner and residential auctioneer at Allsop, said: “This is our fourth dedicated residential sale of the year, and the results show just how resilient the market is. Despite continued wider global volatility, both domestic and international buyers continue to view UK real estate as a safe haven and are bidding with confidence.

“As investors grapple with the likely impacts or otherwise of the Renters’ Rights Act which is now in place, such a strong result over a large two-day sale should provide confidence for the remainder of the year, with investors still seeing value in the UK residential market. We are already assembling our May catalogue, which is shaping up to be another large sale.”
