Former chief executive of The Crown Estate Dame Alison Nimmo has been appointed to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities’ (DLUHC) departmental board as lead non-executive director.
Nimmo has been a non-executive director at the DLUHC since April 2021 and she will remain in her new role until 8 December 2025.
Nimmo said: “I’m delighted to accept this role in helping support the department, and its skilled team, to deliver such an important, challenging and exciting agenda.”

I would like to thank Alison for her interim leadership over the past nine months, during which time she has provided invaluable insight and support. I look forward to continuing our work together on the department’s top priorities.”
In addition to her chief exec role at The Crown Estate, Nimmo helped to win and deliver the London 2012 Olympic Games as a director at the Olympic Delivery Authority and led major city centre regeneration projects in Manchester and Sheffield.
She has served on the boards of UKGBC, Berkeley Group and St Modwen Properties and is an independent non-executive at Cadogan, chair of Mace Group’s advisory board and a member of Imperial College London’s property committee.
