Alchemy Asset Management has recruited Kieran McSwiggan from British Land as associate director.

At British Land, McSwiggan worked cross-sector in development management, leading masterplanning, refurbishment and repurposing projects for assets including Glasgow Fort and Regents Place. In his new role, he will primarily focus on the London and South East office market.

David Hughes, director of Alchemy, said: “With an industry wide flight to quality in the office sector being driven by ambitious sustainability commitments, changing occupier expectation and wider competition for talent, investors are enhancing their office holdings and seeking specialist consultancy support to do so creatively and cost effectively.

“We have been supporting both longstanding and new clients on landmark premises, helping redefine these workspaces within the market, and have won exciting instructions over recent weeks. We are also seeing an increase in workload for re-purposing under-performing offices to other uses. Kieran’s wide-ranging expertise and knowledge will be a valuable addition to Alchemy and we warmly welcome him to the business.”

McSwiggan added: “In my real estate career to date, I’ve been learning the craft – now is the right time for me to hone my skills within a sector I feel genuinely passionate about and at such a game-changing time for offices as a whole. Moving to a small, dynamic, independent consultancy was a very conscious decision for me at this stage and I look forward to contributing to Alchemy during this exciting growth phase.”
