St George has leased 7,500 sq ft to global fitness brand Anytime Fitness at its Grand Union canalside neighbourhood in Alperton.

The gym will open its doors this summer and be operated by franchisees Jaymini Patel and Nimesh Patel, who also operate an outlet in King’s Cross, London.

Jaymini Patel said: “My business partner, Nimesh Patel and I are extremely excited to be working with St George to establish our first Anytime Fitness gym in north west London. We both live near Alperton and know the area well so thought it was the perfect opportunity to establish a new fitness hub in the heart of a growing community.

“We both have a financial background but have always wanted to invest in the fitness industry. Our first foray was becoming the operators of Anytime Fitness in King’s Cross which was already an established gym and this time around we’re very excited to be working on this space with St George from the very beginning.”

Stephen Kirwan, regional managing director, St George West London, added: “Having welcomed our first residents to Grand Union in Alperton, we are pleased to announce Anytime Fitness has joined the Co-op Food as one of our first occupiers. We’re really excited about establishing our leisure, hospitality and retail offering at this new canalside community and creating a place where people not only love to live, but also enjoy visiting; whether that be to exercise, eat, socialise or just take a stroll along the Grand Union Canal.”
