Dominvs Group and Whitbread have held a topping out ceremony at London’s joint-largest Premier Inn hotel.
The hotel in Hammersmith, west London, which was designed by Stirling Prize-winning architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and constructed by hotel experts HG Construction, is set for completion in Q4 2024.
The BREEAM Excellent scheme offers 400-bedrooms across a part-ten and part-five storey block.
Lee Saywack, executive director at Dominvs Group, said: “It’s a privilege to have worked closely with Whitbread to create a new Premier Inn in the heart of west London. The London Plan has identified an additional 58,000 hotel rooms will be required by 2041, and as a London-based developer and investor working with listed institutions and capital providers we’re proud to be delivering much-needed hotel rooms as tourist numbers continue to recover from the lows experienced during the pandemic.”
Jonathan Langdon, acquisition manager for Whitbread in central London, added: “In October we upgraded our long-term network target for Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn to 125,000 rooms in the UK and Ireland. Though we see an enormous opportunity for our hotel brands across all regions, we are particularly excited about London where we are investing heavily to grow our presence.
“Hammersmith, with its strong economy, cultural attractions and excellent transport connections is an ideal location for Premier Inn. We see it and other similar locations as strategic growth opportunities for our brands, and we expect the new 400-bedroom Premier Inn at Talgarth Road will be a very popular choice with our guests when the doors open.”
Adam Quinn, CEO of HG Construction, said: “This is a fantastic scheme which will significantly boost the hotel offering in the Hammersmith area and benefit the local community with an exciting new public space. The topping out ceremony is a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the team in getting to this stage. We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with Dominvs and the wider team and seeing this high quality, sustainable scheme progress further over the coming months.”
