Federated Hermes has hired Dinesh Gautam as an associate director in the firm’s real estate debt team.

He joins from Bank J. Safra Sarasin, where he was responsible for the underwriting, execution, and restructuring of senior debt mandates secured against commercial real estate assets for high-net-worth families and UK corporations.

In his new role, Gautam will report into Federated Hermes director Paul Robinson, to support in the origination, structuring and execution of real estate loans.

Gautam said: “I’m pleased to be joining the team as we identify valuable opportunities in the real estate debt market for our clients. Federated Hermes’ unique approach to originating attractive investment opportunities and prudent underwriting has enabled it to create a market leading platform which I look forward to building on.”

Vincent Nobel, head of asset-based lending at Federated Hermes, added: “Our expertise in origination and underwriting has enabled the team to create a diversified portfolio with attractive risk-adjusted returns, while emphasising the long-term potential of real estate debt in evolving market conditions. We are excited to welcome Dinesh, whose experience will assist us in sustaining our asset-focused and effective underwriting strategy.”
