The London Initiative for Safe AI (LISA), a non-profit organisation working on the safety of artificial intelligence, has signed for a circa 82,000 sq ft hub at the TRIBECA scheme in King’s Cross, London.

LISA is taking the innovation space across six floors at The Reflector, the second building on the TRIBECA campus, which is being delivered by Reef + Partners and BlackRock Real Estate. The space will be fitted out over the coming months with LISA expected to move in during 2027.

LISA will use the new hub as a collaboration space for researchers, AI developers and policymakers to work alongside one another and to convene.

The TRIBECA life sciences and innovation campus spans circa 1m sq ft across four buildings, offering a blend of laboratory, innovation, retail and amenity space. The campus is being delivered in two phases. The Apex, the first phase of the scheme, comprises more than 110,000 sq ft of laboratory space, and the final phase includes The Reflector, The Assembly and The Connector buildings.

Krzysztof Bar, CEO of LISA, said: “The AI safety field in the UK is growing fast and LISA has already outgrown its current space. TRIBECA gives us room for the organisations and programmes working on AI safety today, and for the ones that do not exist yet. Being in King’s Cross puts us a short walk from the AI companies, research institutes and government bodies we work with most closely to drive AI safety forward in the UK.”

Stewart Deering, CEO of Reef + Partners, added: “TRIBECA is a unique life sciences and innovation campus at the heart of King’s Cross, London, bringing together leading scientific organisations and innovators to create a research-led environment where ideas, talent and technologies can converge.

“LISA is a fantastic addition to TRIBECA, enhancing the vibrancy and energy we aspire to create across the campus and strengthening collaboration between science, technology and AI. TRIBECA provides an innovation-enabled platform that can support LISA’s vital work in AI safety, bringing together leading organisations, programmes and researchers in the field. We are delighted to welcome the LISA team to our ecosystem and look forward to collectively pushing the boundaries of innovation.”

Rachel Francis-Lang, real estate partner at Lewis Silkin, which advised LISA on the deal, said: “We are delighted to have supported LISA in securing its new hub at TRIBECA. King’s Cross is an outstanding location for an organisation at the forefront of AI safety, placing LISA at the heart of London’s innovation and research ecosystem. This is a significant letting in one of the capital’s most exciting commercial developments and reflects the growing demand from the technology sector for best-in-class space in the Knowledge Quarter.”
