GMS Estates has secured planning consent to convert Kingsway House office building on Kingsway in London into an aparthotel that will be operated under the Beyond Aparthotels brand.
The redevelopment will feature 58 aparthotel suites and involve the removal of a seventh-floor rooftop extension, which will be replaced with a two-storey vertical extension that increases the building’s height to eight storeys. The building will also offer ground floor commercial space, a café lounge open to guests and the public and a basement gym.

Paul Wells, partner at Studio Moren, which designed the development, added: “This approval marks a significant milestone in the recognition of the necessity for the adaptive reuse of historic office buildings that are no longer fit for purpose in this part of Camden, breathing new life into these unused spaces and offering them a viable and sustainable future.”
