Island Green Power (IGP) has secured acceptance of a development consent order (DCO) application for Green Hill Solar Farm in the East Midlands.
The proposals include approximately 550 hectares earmarked for solar photovoltaic panels and associated infrastructure and around 190 hectares designated for environmental mitigation and enhancement.
The proposed circa 1,200-hectare site is designed to deliver up to 500 MW of electricity – enough to power approximately 115,000 homes. The application will now progress to the examination phase.
