MDPL Group and City Inc have secured planning consent for a mixed-use scheme at Riverside House in Woolwich, London.
The site, which is located on the corner of Woolwich High Street and Beresford Street, currently comprises two interconnected buildings.
The buildings will be converted and extended, forming a 332-bed, 17-storey purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) tower and a 265-room, seven-storey hotel. Half of the student accommodation will be affordable and the scheme will feature extensive communal amenities.
The existing connection between the two buildings will be removed to create a new urban pathway and public realm that improves connectivity between the Woolwich Arsenal site and Woolwich’s urban centre.

The project team also includes Studio Bosk, Applied Energy and Meinhardt. The project is set to enter the development stage, with completion anticipated in 2027.
