Warehouse REIT has appointed Dominic O’Rourke, group property director at retailer Next, as an independent non-executive director.
Prior to joining Next, O’Rourke spent 13 years at Landsec where he was a director and retail executive committee member.
Warehouse REIT said O’Rourke’s appointment is part of its succession strategy following Martin Meech’s decision not to stand for re-election at the company’s AGM so he could take on another executive role in the real estate sector.
Neil Kirton, chairman of the board of directors at Warehouse REIT, said: “Dominic brings highly relevant and deep real estate experience alongside an occupier’s perspective and the company looks forward to benefitting from his significant experience.
“Martin joined the board at IPO and has been a highly valued colleague. He has made a significant contribution to our development as a listed company and we wish him well for the future. On behalf of the board I would like to thank him for all his efforts.”
